Mount Batur Sunrise Trekking
Early morning we pick you up at 02.00 am at your hotel and we start to go to the milder climate of 1200 meters above sea level. There we begin our trekking up to the top of the volcano to see the sunrise. We will see the magnificent view of the lake and the red sky. In the soft morning light we walk around the rim of the volcanic cone to see the crater. This trek takes 3-4 hrs to trek up and down.
On the way back down you will walk through to the black lava which originally flown down during the first and the second eruption. Before going back to the hotel we stop at the hot spring for a swim (optional at a surcharge).
Batur volcano is still active till now, with the last eruptions in 1926, 1963, 1974, and 1994.
